November to Remember, Week 2

Well, it hasn't been a great week, but we are back on the ban-wagon! I weighed in today, and next Monday will post any percentage change. Need to be down 4% of current weight by Thanksgiving, which is only 3.5 weeks away!

One thing that I realized is that I cannont keep cookie dough in the house...I just don't have enought will power to eat it in point size portions...... Also something that I am working on this week is to eat small portions at dinner time. For example, I really needed to have eaten 1/2 as much lasagna and bread last night as I actually did. The other thing I will be working on is trying to eat by 7pm, and get into bed by 10 or 10:30pm, so I can get up to workout in the mornings :)

Well, until next time..... :)

November to Remember!

Mom and I are having a November to Remember. Both of us will be trying to reach our goals by Thanksgiving. One of the ways that I will accomplish this is to lay out workout clothes by the bed the night before, so I can get straight out of bed, change and get to the gym downstairs. We have a new weight system, and I'm looking forward to using it :) Another way that November will be a month to Remember is to finish getting my bedroom organized. Being organized helps me to feel more peacefull, and I don't get the urge to graze as much when in a peacefull state of mind.

My plan is to blog Monday & Thursdays to keep myself motivated. I also have to say that my sister Anna and mom Gail have been a great source of motivation for me as well. They have been doing really great! I need to come up with some more ways to stay motivated :)

Visiting with Family in CLT!

Had a great time visiting with mom, dad, the girls, the kids, Lilly and Ian! Saturday we went to the library and then visited with Mammaw for a little bit. She was very interactive, and really enjoyed the Reeses Peanut Butter Cups we brought her. Later that evening, mom and I went for a 4 mile walk, came back and had pizza with the movie The Bounty Hunter, with Becca & Anna joining us. The movie was pretty good, and the breadsticks were awesome!

Sunday morning mom & I went for a 7.5 mile walk, which was good, but wore me out :b We ran to Lowes for pine needles, then I headed to Deb's to dig up some hosts they didn't want...of course, I had to visit with Lilly first for a little bit.

We had a great Labor Day lookout in the cul-de-sac, with great food, fantastic friends and d family, and perfect weather!

Life is crazy, but good!

In to my second full week of school, class is tonight, and I'm really enjoying it! It really makes a difference when you are studying something you are passionate about vs. not.

Mt. Gilead Summer Art class

We have had a great time creating art and used paint today. First we painted our hieroglyphic tablets that we created yesterday, then painted cardboard shapes as earth, wind, fire and water...the four elements of the world!

Oakboro Freedom 5k

What a great race in Oakboro, NC! I thoroughly enjoyed the rout which was mostly shady, and we had over 100 people participating. I got my time under 40 minutes wich was my goal, since I haven't been training at all!

Celia Blake won 1st prize for our age group, and we think her time is around 26 minutes, which is amazing!

It was great seeing all of the runner out participating, and I can't wait to do the next one in Candor on July 17th....hopefully I'll be in a little better condition by then!

Pottery at Montgomery Community College (MCC)

Today was my first class and I had so much fun! I haven't thrown a pot in 8 years and thoroughly enjoyed feeling the clay between my hand again. I was thrilled that I could somewhat center the clay, and actually create something that should hold water. I have a lot to learn to further my craft as a potter, but I look forward to the next 7 weeks of class. A big thanks to my fellow classmates, especially one of the Betty's & Bernice :)
